Hyper Braille
Development of a new type of bi-manual handling and user interface for interactive pin-matrix devices for tactile access to graphical screen contents and graphical notations for the blind and those with serious visual impairments.![]()
The intention behind HyperBraille is to enable the blind and those with serious visual impairments to access not just text but also graphical information, so that they have barrier-free access to computers and the Internet. To do this, the joint project is developing a graphics-capable "Braille monitor" and the software required to control and transcribe text and graphics.
